Strava missing out private segments

I've been using Strava for the last couple of months and needless to say I am completely hooked.

There's a few local routes I use regularly that have public segments in and these get updated every time I complete them. I've also added a few private segments along my usual routes just to compete against myself.

For some reason Strava won't update or even register that I've done these private segments, but will update the public ones that are part of the same journey.

Anyone know why this might be?

I had the same issue and raised a ticket with Strava Support. They said it was down to GPS drift affecting the mapping, and that the ride/run segment i did, didn't completely match the segment i thought it was part of due to this.

Are you using a phone or a Garmin watch? The phones seem to be a lot more prone to GPS drift than the Garmin watches or devices.

Am using my HTC DEsire so it's possible the phone GPS is out of sync.

Will have a play with the SNAP tool. Many thanks for the help.
