Whistle Miwok

Just waiting on my new Cycle2work scheme voucher arriving so have been browsing Halfords for my options and have come across the Whistle Miwok as pictured below, Trying to do some research and read some reviews but cant find anything online for it.
Has anyone got any experience with the Brand and/or model and what do we think?

And if it is a no what would you be looking at in the <£500 range from Halfords?

Never heard of it, and it looks very light on spec compared to something like a Canyon Yellowstone 4.0/5.0...

Well, it "looks" OK... But as above, spec looks a bit so-so.

And "Allowing oneself to conquer that fascination of wild nature, to be lived together with BORN FOR RUNNING bicycles." Sounds like pure Chinglish to me - there's nothing wrong with Chinese/Taiwanese-made bikes per se, but in-house designs may or may not be up to par.

For a £500 cycle to work voucher I'd be looking at one of these: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/... Carrera Kraken.

Join British Cycling first as a 'Ride' member (£12) and use the 10% discount code to get it for £400, that leaves £100 (or £110-odd before discount) to pick up a decent helmet, some high-vis kit and a decent lock.

Two things though:
1. Are you going to be going properly off-road? Just bridleways? A 700C hybrid may be better for you than a full MTB. Just on the road? Something like the Carrera Gryphon (flat bar road bike) or Virtuoso (full road) may actually be suitable.
2. Is your voucher the "Halfords" cycle to work scheme, or one of the others "Cyclescheme", "Cycle2Work", etc? Other bike shops are available

I know, £30 over budget but the VooDoo HooDoo seems well spec'd and gets pretty good reviews.

Plans for it so far is some off road use and will probably buy an extra set of wheels with some slicks on for road/redway riding. May move away from the Whistle and towards the Carrera Kracken or the Hoodoo Voodoo instead and yes the voucher is solely for Halfords.

If it is the Halfords Cycle2Work Scheme then other bikes are available. They have a list of local bike shops that you can buy through and also they can source in quite a lot of other brands (Cube, Giant, Cannondale & more).

Just been in and had a good look at both the Carrera Kracken and the Voodoo Hoodoo and I think the Hoodoo is winning me over just now so unless I go outside of Halfords I think that will be the winner for me.
