Winters coming - Cotic Soul or 456c ??

I fancy a nice simple but slack hardtail for winter, but can't decide between these two? The Soul is a bit heavier but looks nice, the carbon 456 is lighter but a bit of a minger......

Which is better? there's only one way to find out...... FIGHT........ or, anyone ride either of those frames and care to comment??


(intending to stick a hand-me-down Fox 140mm fork on it, so will be up at the max recommended fork length for either frame)

Slightly different bikes, non? The Soul is more XC-y, the 456 (material aside) more slack/all-rounder? A better comparison would be a Soul vs. Inbred, or a 456 vs. BeFe, non?

BUT, out of your choice: Soul. Never, EVER heard a bad word about them...or the material they're made out of

I only just realised that Cotic are based a stone throw from my house and I had never realised...!

get onto singletrackworld, I don't think I have ever read a bad comment about the Soul. Cotic still have some of the old (non tapered headtube) stock left too which look a lot nice than the new ones but i dont think the old ones are dropper post compatible.

It needs to have a tapered head tube as it's getting the hand-me-down Fork from my Zesty!

At the moment i'm er'ing towards the Soul, mainly because it looks nicer.............
