Anyone cycled in Tenerife?

I'm going to Tenerife in 2 months for a few days cycling. Will be doing Tiebe and / or Masca - I'm not organising it so don't know much details etc yet and not had time to do much research. Looking forward to it after speaking briefly to a bloke who has done it.

Just got to hope my knees and recent bad back don't let me down!

Going to rent a bike out there which seems a shame after just buying a new one and knowing that a new bike takes some getting used to but I cN face putting a carbon bike on the plane!

Anyone been?

Any tips for the climbs? I might try loose some weight to help the climbs as I believe that's one of the biggest factors on any climb.

there are a few training camps out there so its worth dropping them an email and see if you can tag along once or twice or if they can give you some routes and a few example training plans.

also, there are a few bike boxes around purposely designed for overseas/flight travel. granted they are between £300 and £500 but you would probably pay that to rent a bike for two months. have a look at the bikeboxalan or polaris.

Canyon do a decent looking hard bike case for around £200. Worth a gander.

I'm sure you can hire bike boxes from some places too, that might be worth looking at?

I think the OP is only wanting to cycle for a few days. It looks like you can get a decent bike for a week for under £150.

For the costs of hiring a bikebox and additional airline charges I think I'd just hire one, a lot easier plus I guess you get tech support too.
