Recommend me some winter gloves please

Went for a road ride with my Endura MTB gloves yesterday and the padding is just not on the thumb to fore finger area and was in agony after 20 miles. Also, they didnt fit very well and the fingers are longer than my fingers, making shifting a bugger.( ride a singlespeed mtb this time of year, so never noticed it before !!) So, need some decent padded gloves, not needed down to minus millions, with a decent fit. Any thoughts? Spend about £40 ish.

I've got some Sealskinz ones, they were up for the job this weekend, though marketed as more waterproof than warm, they kept my hands toasty during a 4 hour chilly ride on Saturday...

I really suffer with cold hands and have been trying a pair of Bontrager RXL Waterproof soft shell gloves. Got to say they're the best I've found so far. They're waterproof as the name implies but they also have Primaloft insulation which has really helped.

Just bought a pair of these also, havent used them out on the bike yet but I have been using them whilst walking the dogs and they have been great thus far.

I have a pair of Specialized Deflect gloves (a few years old now, but still around), and they've been about as close to perfect as gloves could be, TBH. Road riding at 0C, my fingers were cool, but not excessively cold. They're thin and rely more on windproofing than anything else, but to this day I can't really justify replacing them!
