I think he referenced being told by Lance once not to "waste your money" he then went on to say something about most Italian riders had an F car on the drive regardless of whether they really could afford to. However, with all due respect to the rest of the peloton, few of them earn anything like what Cav does/has/will given his sponsorship stuff etc etc so I guess he probably can afford a lot more than they can. bakerstreet said:

As with most things in sports its about endorsements more than basic salary I'd imagine. Cavendish is on board with Nike, Oakley, Proctor and Gamble etc etc. Think his basic salary from Sky is over a million and when you add all that stuff into the mix...As for Wiggins, he will have made a lot of money this year, they estimated he could make many millions off the back of what he did this year.
What you have to remember about comparing it to MTV cribs is he's just a fairly normal bloke done good, not some a
