That's pretty good tbh.

I'm probably in the same boat as most people... i.e. know the hero is what we *should* get but can't justify the expense. Therefore watching thread with interest...

why is it of interest?

i'm filming directly into the sun with lots of snow. really this video should have come out really badly in terms of over exposure, but the camera does a remarkable job of adjusting. the camera was helmet mounted and the image stabilisation i think is also very good.

got lots of mtb action but this is the best video i have in term of showing just how capable the camera is in difficult conditions (worth noting it was about -15 that day. also, i don't look like a telly tubby when i'm wearing it, which is the the go pro wearers unfortunately look like....

I got a GoPro silver for £200, the image quality is surprising. I've used allsorts over the years, from £10 Veho ones to hongkong HD specials, but on this occasion you get what you pay for.
No shaking, no weird movements and the light and colours are spot on.

Can I ask where you bought it for that price? I've got a £200 budget and the White edition seems to be the only GoPro available for that price?

You'll have no problem finding a Gopro HD Hero original on Ebay for less than £150 with some accessories. NOthing wrong with them at all and the quality is still superb.
