Just spotted that on ITV HD4 at 8.00pm is "Tour De France 2012: Wiggo's Tour" - might be worth a watch given how good the Year in a Yellow Jersey and the Sky Team documentary series were?

I watched the documentary on Bradley Wiggins “Year in Yellow” yesterday and noticed how they (Chris Boardman and Shane Sutton – I think) put Sky’s failure in the first season down to getting caught up with their emphasis on details (swanky team bus, etc.) Fast forward to 2012 and the latest series of documentary where Sky’s great success is put down to the much publicised marginal gains afforded by…the details, including the swanky bus. Hmmm, you can’t have it both ways!

It's a large jig saw puzzle you need all the bit and then in the right places, then the results come rolling in, loose some bits and you have to start again or have some spare bits.

Was that the original problem, were some bits loose and needed tightened?

Endurance sport - it takes significant time for small changes to produce results. Anyone expecting miracles in the first season needs to avoid the hype.
