What shoes?

Really not getting on with my Sidi Ergo 2's and have tried them with Specialized foot beds but still get some foot/arch pain occasionally and generally don't find them as comfortable as my old Shimano's even though they are stiffer etc.

I was thinking about some Bont's as like the idea of them being heat mouldable, anyone got a pair ? Or any others to recommend?

Lake might be worth a try; the Boa lacing system works well and my experience is that they are comfortable and durable. But, then again I have always found Sidi good too...

Specialised BG stuff is really well designed ergonomically - they have the money to chuck at. Shimano too.

I use Bonts, seem fine to me, s-works too narrow for me, and that lace system is ste.

Did you get your Bonts in normal width ? Also what is the sizing like in regards to normal shoe sizes ?

I don't have particularly wide feet but the Sidi's do feel pretty narrow compared to my old Shimano's (I'm glad Sidi's sell pretty well secondhand on ebay etc)

Struggling to get comfortable with my ergos . Have Sidis for my MTB shoes, so will probably get them instead at some point for my road shoes.

I have fairly wide and flat feet and when I recently looked at Bont ( Vapours i think ) in the LBS found the arch really uncomfortable. Asked the shop if this would change when they were moulded but they weren't sure, not wanting to chance it i stuck to what i know and bought another pair of Specialized S-works as they've always fitted perfectly.
If the arch does drop when moulded then the Bonts were otherwise very impressive and i will probably give them a try next time.

S-works are particularly comfortable. Only a gibbon would struggle with the laces

After finding nowhere with Bonts in stock I went to try on some Specialized/S-Works today and a can't get over how bloody comfortable they felt!

Even though my feet are'nt wide in the Sidi's the outside of my foot feels like its almost hanging off the side of the shoe, whereas on the Specialized's it felt like the outside of the foot was nicely supported, obviously I couldn't test them on the bike now just got to find some at a decent price in my size.

Have you looked at Mavics? I bought a pair of Galibiers yesterday and they seem to be very well made and super comfy in the shop, although I didn't wear them today as they're to be a birthday present.

I think I have the normal version, the heat moulding can sort a lot of the arch issues.

They're bike specific and solved many of my discomfort issues!

I have quite wide feet with very high arches.
I went for the Shimano R191 and have found them very comfortable.

Ended up picking a pair of S-Works up on Christmas eve and took them for a quick spin last night and they feel amazingl compared to my Sidi's while cycling.

So just looks like I didn't have Sidi shaped feet.
