Bib tights for tall skinny gits

I'm looking for some winter bib tights, problem is I'm just over 6'1" with a 32" waist (73kg/11.5 stone). Castelli and Campagnolo come up too short in the leg and body if I go for the correct waist size, or baggy round the waist if I go up in length. On most size charts I seem to be an XS waist but XL height.

So, who makes bib tights to fit beanpoles?

You're not tall, or skinny

I've got a pair of Lusso Roubaix tights in XXL(!) that fit perfectly at 6'4" and 32" waist. They're ancient but I doubt whether their sizing has changed, so maybe an XL for you. They're good quality too.

What Castelli bib's did you try?

I am 6 ft with a 32" waist and have a pair of Castelli Sorpasso bib tights and they fit perfectly - in fact probably slightly too long. They're not cheap but they are very comfy and nice and warm!

Have a look at Biemme as well. My brother's 6'6" and a 34" waist and has a pair that really likes.

I'm 6'5 and 34" waist and just been given a large Le Col pair which fit perfect.

Not sure what your issue is tbh, you are neither tall or thin, in cycling terms, I would imagine anything medium would fit you ok? I use DHB tights in medium, I'm same height as you, 30-31 inch waist and medium fits fine, would imagine they would still be tight round thinner legs than mine too. They're good value too.

6'2, 29" waist. I put up with flappy. The guys in the lbs claim assos is the way to go, but the race fit north wave stuff is the best fit I've found within budget.

I had thought the same. I'm coming at this from a background in running, where medium stuff fits me fine. I consider I am still about half a stone above my optimal cycling weight. However, the bibs I've tried so far have been cut for a slightly more rotund figure, i.e. shorter legs bigger waist than I would expect (manufacturers aiming at the most common purchasers?). I can't be doing with a flappy waist or tights which pull down on my shoulders. Some useful recommendations on here and I will give them a go. Thanks all.

My son is 6'2" and has a 28" waist and he wears DHB bib shorts in a medium. Hope that helps.

That works for shorts, but not for tights IME, as the grippers leave you looking like it's Hammer time.

Main problem for me is anything l/s. You are either a sail with decent arm coverage, or decent fit and have to use arm warmers for the half mast sleeves. Northwave racefit L tops are okay - could be tighter, and are only a few inches above the wrist. Looking on wiggle for ccmments by fatties about the sizing being out can help. I got a DHB windslam on that basis and it's okay.

I did try on a >£200 Assos ultralight windproof jacket that fitted perfectly but that felt the same quality as a Montane ultralight at £30. The fit was perfect. Pearl Izumi stuff I've tried is quite close at 1/3rd the price.

I'm a very similar build and find leg length on the medium stuff tend to creep up, settled for leg warmer with bib shorts. All the benefits of tight but with no length issues and if you mis-judge the temperature you can whip them of and stuff them in a pocket.
