As its almost the final day of the year, what are your self propelled resolutions and challenges for 2013?

For me:

1: Ride more commuting miles than miles driven (inspired by Liquid Knight)
2. Hit a minimum of 300 miles per month (including Turbo)
3. Join the local cycle club for some chain gang rides
4. Enter a minimum of 5 Sportives for the year ahead.
5. C2C (its an idea in the pipeline so not strictly a set in stone plan).

I'll be writing all of these down along with some other plans for the year and pinning them to something. I need to be visually reminded daily. I might even make it my desktop background so that I can tick off all of these as I go.

Use the value I have tied up in both my bikes to more effect. That means getting on them more often. Going for rides alone when my flakey mates inevitably bail at the last minute.

Maybe even do a trip to Wales or somewhere for the MTB, or Pyrenees for the road bike.

Centurian challenge - at least 1 metric century ride per month (off Bikeradar forum).
Set a new PR on my local steep hill each month.
I aim to do 200 miles / month all year, as well.
Commute to work by bike when the better weather comes in.

Not to spend as much as I did this year on bikes and bike related stuff, which should not be too much of a challenge!

Oh yeah, that too!

I've spent all I should need to now. Maybe a full suspension bike next year.

Just a couple for me, I don't believe in resolutions and these are "at least"...

One metric century each month
One British century
Do the Dynamo.

As of tomorrow my tube fare goes up to a round £5 each way, so commuting 2/3 times a week goes without saying too.

Mine for the year are:

Do some proper training!
Lose 7Kg
More commuting miles by bike than by car
Top 20 finish in this years Torq 12h race
Sub 12h South Downs Way ride
2500 Miles total for the year

That should just about do it smile

Go on an epic adventure ( epic by my standard, not Neilski's) - hope to have that nailed down by end of Jan.
Might I suggest Raid Pyrénéen if you're still undecided. Unsupported of course, none of this namby pamby getting a van to carry your bags nonsense! wink

I had intended to say 10km every day for a year... But I'm bike less for the next few days, boo. And forgot I like holidays. And can't commute.

So, instead I will...
Finish my resto project. And ride it.
Do more night riding.
Take the mtb out more in the dales.

1, Get back on the bike. After breaking my elbow in September I've not managed a proper ride, and because it's not healed correctly it's looking more and more likely I'll need an operation on it in 2013 frown

2, Get under 13 stone (whatever that is in metric) I was 16 stone 2 years ago and getting back on the bike quickly got it down to 14, but it's leveled off there, so I need to do some real work getting the last stone off.

3, Depending on the outcome of item 1 I'd like to get a road bike. TBF most of my riding is on road anyway, so it makes sense.

Go cycling in all weather instead of taking the easy option staying indoors drinking beer and eating crisps.
Lose weight, you fat phuck.
Cycle camping. Two or three overnights in a tent, completely self sufficient. Preferably wild camping but I wouldn't mind staying in a camp site if the facilities are good.
Take the bikes to the south of France on a camping holiday and have wine and cheese on a river bank on a day trip.
Break the 100 mile barrier.

Currently 14 stone. I need to be 12 - 12.5. Reduction must be achieved!

Get average speed from 16 to 18 and then 20 mph on my usual commute route.

Use said commute route more. At least 150 miles a month.
