Campag chain advice

Hi

Just got my first Campag bike with full Chorus groupset. It currently has the C11 chain. Do people use the Campag chain and buy the amazingly expensive tool or use the KMC as an alternative? On my old Shimano setup I'd take the chain off with the missing link to clean on a bi-weekly basis but the KMC missing link is apparently not re-usable for the 11 speed chains so seems less of an obvious choice?

You're looking at about £80 for both instead of £130 for the Campag one

Madness to use/buy the tool in my opinion.

I've just put a Campag 11 bike together. Used a KMC 11-speed missing link. It's fine.

Exactly this ^^^^.

I have Athena 11spd and I've used a normal chain tool to shorten the chain and the KMC 11spd missing link.

A mate also did this with Super Record chain on his Colnago C59 and it's 100% perfect.

Please forgive my ignorance but when the KMC missing link is said to be "non-reusable" does that mean I need to it a new one every time I split the chain?

Forgiven, and yes it does mean exactly that, put it together, and then when you split it, use a new link. Still better than the expense of campag chain tools.
