Identify this d-lock?

Hey. My local police are soon going to be selling d-locks in a bid to ease bike thefts. They've posted a pic but not said what model this lock is.. (or even if this is the same lock they'll have for sale but that's another matter)

Seems i've been able to answer my own question. It's a Kryptonite KryptoLok S2 and Hargroves sell it for £29~ (their website was my first port of call seeing as they're in on the deal). About £26~ elsewhere online. So 50% off is a bit misleading.

Reviews aren't too favourable. Probably only any good as a secondary lock for the front wheel at a push.

Thoughts?

Don't know about D-locks, nor much about Beastleigh, but here in Farnborough they would be better off pulling over all the bloody Ninja cyclists who ride around after dark, and frog-march them to a cashpoint to sell them SOME BLOODY LIGHTS.

50% of RRP, which is pretty much what everything sells for in shops anyway! As you say, a D lock is no good as the main lock on a bike. Thieves will just use a ****** **** on it, most people must know what that is, but do't want to help any scum bags out!

I have one of those - with a cable for securing the front wheel.

Yes, a ###### #### would have it open in seconds but I lock it in such a way that it'd be very difficult to get the #### inside.

Kryptonite offer theft insurance too - if you send them a photo of the broken lock they'll cover an amount of the loss. The Kryptonite New York is the daddy though.
