cornwall cycling

looking at cycling from St Ives to Okehampton in March. Have plotted a route on MapMyRide which is OK (about 98 miles) which avoids A30 a major roads.

interested if anyone has done a similar route (start and ends don't have to be the same) but i can join and leave as required. if there's a route you could share that would be great as well. looks to be about 98 miles on my route which is decent ride

Take care with the coast road unless you're a big fan of 20% climbs every 5 miles.

from previous experience cornwall is just one long hill whichever way you seem to be cycling. allegedly the prevailing wind is from the west, but i am confident that the wind pixies do their best to mess things around when they see a cyclist....

my route doesn't go along the coast, rather through hayle, tambourine, redruth, chacewater, truro, ladock, fraddon, indian queens, hellandbridge, does a funny wiggle to launceston, then on to okehampton.

looks like he mostly did the A30 which i have no interest in doing!

I've done most of that area in sections; assume Tamborine is actually Camborne?!! All fine and take the old A30 north of Truro; nice stretch of fast road with few cars. Should be fun!
