Mountain biking in Tenerife

Hi,

Going to Tenerife in April for a week and im wanting to hire a bike for a day and do a downhill singletrack ride from up in the mountains to sea level. I am staying in Costa Adeje.

I've looked on lavatrax website which seemed good but they don't have anything available the week im away, and don't hire bikes.

Another company called bikepoint have said i can join them on a guided downhill course 'descent of teide' which sonds good, but the guy on email doesn't have great english so im not sure whether this is going to be fireroad type roads all the way down or whether it will be singletrack. Ideally i would like something a little challenging!

Has anyone been biking in Tenerife? Or used any of the companys that do guided tours?

I could also hire a bike myself, but im not sure if its possible to get up there yourself without a car, although i have heard there is a cable car that goes all the way up. Whether i can take a bike im not sure.

Im just after advice really, and possible routes if anybody knows of some
