Waterproof shorts

Right,
Since the UK appears to have turned into a permanent monsoon zone, I've decided that, actually, waterproof shorts would be a lovely touch to make my commute more pleasant. I don't go far enough to really work up a sweat but arriving at work with dry pants and shirt tails would be a distinct joy.
Any recommendations? Don't want to spend more than about £60 and I'd like something fairly substantial for when I finally get my MTB back from its Police pound imprisonment.

ETA- What about these? Seem to fit the bill.
Endura MT500 Spray. Utterly brilliant. They do short or 3/4 length which I have.
They aren't fully waterproof but the ones they replaced (also Endura and £100!!) and were utterly useless despite rave reviews.
The whole backside is waterproof and I stay almost completely dry even in comedy rain.

Yep; I stay pretty much dry.
The problem with the fully waterproof ones was that when your legs got slightly damp; they stuck to the inside shell material which made pedalling harder. Plus they didn't stretch.
I ride in utterly minging conditions quite often and stay pretty dry and comfortable.
Best thing is Sealskinz socks sealed with 2" off cuts of an old wetsuit (bottoms of the legs). My feet stay bone dry even if fully immersed. Much better than overshoes or bulky waterproof footwear (I used Spesh experts which are nice and light).

I've had waterproof trousers and they're horrible, fall down very easily and need to be worn over something else......and cutting the legs down to size?
