Balance Bikes

I'm thinking of buying my Nephew a balance bike for his 2nd birthday, I've been looking on eBay and they can be picked up quite cheaply, are the cheap ones worthwhile? Don't want to spend a fortune but also don't want to buy a heap of crap!

Any thoughts/recommendations for the ones under £30, there seem to be plenty about for that..

I've got two boys who both had balance bikes from age 2 and they're the best things we ever bought - both were cyclying within a year or so.

£30 seems a bit cheap bur to be fair it doesn't need to last so I'd say go for it. If you're in Scotland I'll give you a wooden motorbike style unused one for £30!

Buy the wooden ones, I went all out and spent 90 bucks on a pink metal one and it was too heavy and she never used it.

We do the Kiddimoto bikes. Nice bits of kit, their Kurve range is quite affordable.

Ours got on very well on an Islabikes Rothan - metal but very light.

The "with pedals" CNOC 14 we also bought is MUCH heavier!

Over budget but they often come up second hand.

Ridgeback scoot is what my wee one got but its far too heavy.

Save money and buy them wee bikes and take the pedals off. They'll be riding in no time and then stick 'em back on.
