Lid recommendations?

Budget £30-£50, urban cycling with occasional off road but nothing extreme, so far I like the MET Crossover but open to suggestions please.

I have had a Giro for a few years now. I think I paid £29 for it from Evans and it has worked very well

I've just gone back to them after many years of Specialized - an Atmos. Out of budget but it's a cracking lid. Light, comfy, venty, doesn't look like a giant mushroom.

Uvex Boss Race is my current lid. Bought to replace an old 'Tesco Special' and a 'Met' lid of unknown model. The Tesco lid is going in the bin, and the Met has been relegated to the MTB for off road use (as it has a plastic peak).

RRP is claimed to be ~£60, I paid ~£40 a while back when it was on offer on Aon

Among the key features are a partial bug mesh and good venting, as well as good range of adjustment and easy removal of the padding to wash it. Biggest drawback in use is that the buckle fastener under the chin is quite bulky, but you get used to that.

It's available in a good choice of colours, 'Carbon-look' White (mine), white/orange, blue, red, etc. The key for me was fit - my head is a strange shape, longer front to back than most people's, and most lids fit a 'rounder' head. Try on as many as you can, budget is not the most important consideration when it comes to finding a comfortable cycling helmet.

For helmets as in motorsport fit is king, make sure it fits properly or it becomes less efficient when needed.
