Rode past a pher this afternoon (about 1745) with one on going between Somerton and Butleigh Was it you!?

I was the one on the green trek

I'm from Somerset and ride those roads every so often, but it wasn't me!

Well if you see a 20 something looking out of shape riding around on a green bike, normally a tri uk Gillette on do say hello as you pass!

Yep want one also think of there is another run will defo put my name down, hint hint ph!

'twas me! We have been staying in Hermitage Road in Upton for a weeks break, and I was getting one final ride in before heading home! I do remember seeing you and giving a quick nod and a wave, in fact I only saw two other pedal-pushers while I was out and they were both within about 100 yds of each other coming into Somerton!

I also got a toot and a wave from a Skyline going across Cockrod, assume it was a fellow PH-er and not someone telling me to get off the road!!

I have to say you have some fantastic roads in Somerset and generally speaking they are in much better condition than the ones I usually ride in the Thames Valley. Some really fantastic hills, I did Cheddar up and Bristol Hill down yesterday - in the torrential rain! What a fantastic climb up through the Gorge, sadly I got stuck in traffic coming down Bristol Hill into Wells so could not make the most of it - but we will be back!

Also, have to say we ate in as many of the local pubs etc as we could and found everyone very friendly and welcoming - really nice weeks break, just a shame we had to go home today!

Well glad you enjoyed Somerset and all it has to offer! Have to admit I have not been riding that long so trying to find new routes every time, may have to steal your route but I have a feeling it will be slower than your time.

We do have some nice hills, sure many more than I can handle at the moment, yes things do seam to be in good condition so I'm not one to complain. Think a route around cheddar will be in for next weekend, have heard a lot about it so might give it a go.
