Replacement Decals for Townsend

ok righty, hope this is in the correct section. My grandfather passed away 10 years ago, and i inherited his bike - its nothing overly special but was his daily rider for sociable and pleasure runs. I havent really ridden it but its sat in my garage for those years, i will be moving house shortly and will not be selling the bike, so i have decided to basically make the bike a show piece and display in either my new conservitory or garage. The frame decals are slightly worn, does anyone know if its possible to get a replacement set made? i tried ebay, but dont really know where to look

This question was posed in the cycling bit of the Sunday Times In Gear section a week or three back. They mentioned a bike shop (up north IIRC) that apparently has thousands of old decals available or can have them made up from their samples.

Sorry I can't be more help than that but someone might still have a copy kicking around.

Could your local signwriter help by making up a set?

You know... the sort of place that does graphics for tradesmen to stick on their vans etc?
Maybe they could copy the old transfers and cut out a new set in vinyl or something?

It might be worth while popping over to www.retrobikes.com and ask the question there.

There is a member called Gill.M who has done many decal sets in the past, but for reasons I'm not entirely sure about seems to not be doing any currently.

There wil no doubt be someone who will at least be able to point you in the right direction.

I used this chap a few weeks ago to tart up my kids Spec MTB. He was really quick and I reckon he could sort you out if you ask nicely...
