The upgrade bug. I literally can't peal myself away from scanning websites for things to spend my hard earned on.
Currently I have a Cannondale Supersix 105 and the only upgrade as yet are a lovely set of Zipp clinchers. For no reason other than snob factor, I'm starting to feel like the 105 needs an upgrade, which has left me looking at DA mechanical or Ultegra Di2. Opinions on which to choose would be useful.
But then i look at the cost of that and wonder if it really is going to make much difference at all, and maybe I would be better off with some nice carbon finishing kit and pocket the change.
Then things get really serious and I start wondering whether buying a whole new bike altogether would make better financial sense and having 2 bikes would certainly give me more options (Winter bike etc). Man logic is strong on this one.
I'm not sure this feeling is going to go away until I'm punching my card numbers in on a new purchase. I guess my real question here, is would you bother upgrading groupset, or is the better option to upgrade to a new bike?

There is a cure for this terrible afflication. Buy a bike that cannot be upgraded (for a year at least). That was how I talked myself up from Ultegra to DA 9070. Unfortunately, I now realise I need a set of 80mm LightWeight Fernwegs. This is not an upgrade, because any proper cyclist should have winter wheels, climbing wheels, 50mm and 80mm aero wheels. Simples.
Even though my bike suits me perfectly for what I like to do (sportives, commute, sunday rides with some good strong riders), I still want to upgrade. I feel amongst friends here 
I've chosen to start saving and get a bling bike beginning of next summer, though. So keep telling myself to stop spending on this bike. So I do.

Neither. Spend the money on you (massage/bit fit/physio) so you can ride better and faster for longer. Chuck in a couple of quid on some new cables for your perfectly-good 105 and ride, ride, ride. Rolls, I was under the impression there was a factory Supersix di2 so didn't expect an issue? Happy to be proven wrong.
Jimbo, I think the missus would prefer I spent the money on bikes than 'massages'
I see your point though. Like I said, this is purely to itch a scratch and put a smile on my face than make me a better rider, we all know that comes through hard earned riding.

I felt that way about my bike, but started doing a bit of racing recently and realised that upgrading my components won't make me any faster and will just make me look more of a plum if I get dropped. I'm sticking with 105 :-)
This!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It's far more fun kicking someone's arse on a crap bike than getting dropped on a bike hanging like a Christmas tree.
One of my my best ever rides out was catching and dropping a MAMIL astride his 5k carbon race bike up the back side of Mam Torr on a 6" FS bike wearing full armour. Hurt like a b
d doing so mind

Your not the only one! I'm having thoughts about building a retro MTB or putting flat bars and V brake levers on the road bike.
As I haven't ridden a race bike in over 20 years I'm finding the lack of control after loosing 20cms's of bar a triffle concerning.
The retro ratter is winning though as I'm scouring ebay for a cheap frame, as it gives me a chance to get a bike I wanted as a teenager. Even considering going to a bootsale on Sunday to see if I can kick the projecct off!

Supersix Evo, and it's running SRAM Red, a proper lightweight groupset, none of this lugging batteries around.
