I bought a Giant TCR Advanced SL a few months ago, played with the position a bit and decided I need a 120mm stem as oppose to the 110mm currently on there.

A mate lent me one, it didn't fit around the steerer thing as it was too small. What size is mine? I've been told by the shop that Giant have slightly different sized stem things but didn't quite catch the dimensions he said.

It looks the same as mine and you can get them in 120mm, it should fit, right?

They're usually 25.4mm, 26mm, 28.6mm or 31.8mm.

If you've tried one and it was too small, chances are you have a 31.8mm, therefore the one in the eBay ad should fit. Check the angle is the same as well as the length of the stem.

Usually 'oversize' refers to the handlebars being 31.8, with the steerer generally being 1 and 1/8th inch.. but a quick google search suggests the TCR is a 1 and 1/4 inch steerer tube, hence 31.8mm at both ends.

That seems like a bucketload for a stem, but..
