Karma Police Ride Mountain Bikes

So I went for a spin across the Peak District - Langsett to Ladybower for locals. Its very rocky in places, very, very and pinch punctures are common, saw a few on Saturday. However, going up first climb, very close to Langsett, saw chap walking down with mtb in one hand, wheel with no tyre/tube in other. Stopped - he asked "wheres the nearest bike shop........" truth is it was miles away and he had come from Ladybower side!, Asked what the prob was and hed basically had a shed load of pinch flats and ruined the tube, so I gave him my spare. He was grateful, offered to post one back etc, but said no need, buy spares in bulk, not worth posting cost etc. We both carried on our way, as we parted he said he hoped I didnt need it later on.... but I didnt and didnt even have a single flat even though I had a fair few stupid offs and hit a few things at crank destroying speeds and angles let alone tyre pinching speeds..... I deserved some serious mechanical grief that day and got away with a small graze to my calf....

So there you go. Karma does exist and those who police it ride mountain bikes... those who write the rules know what they are talking about..
