Riding my first 100 miler tomorrow in the Carten100 in south wake.

Westerly 'headwind' all day long

Yep, I'll be there!

Bit apprehensive given the weather forecast (rain, hail, thunder and worst of all strong westerly winds) and the fact that the route change means the distance has gone up to 108 miles. Most I've ever done is 70 miles, so 108 into the wind is gonna be tough!

Morning! How did you guys do? I managed to complete in 7hrs 45mins including a detour due to poor signage which meant we did 112miles and almost 5k ft of climbing!!! We were the group that ended up at the headland!!
Brutal weather esp the wind and speaking to others who have done it before they said the hardest Carten they have had to do!!! ....next year again....?

It was brutal wasn't it? The wind was horrid, and the rain/hail late on was nasty.

Definitely the hardest CARTEN I've done so far. We were over 2hrs slower than last year, at 8hrs.

As we were driving out east from Tenby, there were people walking bikes in on the A478 at 9pm!!
