Sunday whilst a good proportion of North Wales was being washed from my bike - it was stolen - in between rinses. Some opportunistic lag had it away whilst I went into the house to get a watering can refilled. Absolutely gutted doesn't cover it...
I feel like a bit of a naive tw*t this morning - the thing was lent against the outside of my garage at the bottom of the side entry and left unattended for less than 3mins - all it evidently needed - and somebody has clocked me washing it from the road - minced down and then f*cked off with my bike. I must have been so oblivious to being watched.
Feeling it is a complete goner.
If anyone sees a Cube Attention 2011 - Satin Black with white graphics, Red Bottle Cage, Red DMR pedals and some red Handlebar grips in the Coventry/Meriden/Solihull area I'd welcome a PM. Has a Cateye rear light fitted too...

s - what on earth makes them think that it is suitable and acceptable behaviour to take something that is quite clearly belonging to someone else who is enjoying it and using it

Have to agree with the above, it is disgusting how some people behave.
I must admit, I get a bit paranoid when I'm cleaning the bike out the front, even though we live on a reasonably quiet road there are times when quite a few people you don't recognise will be walking past.
I hope you get it back, but fear it is very unlikely.

I work in Cov, and live in Redditch. What's the best route to take on the way home to keep an eye out? I could go south to Shrewley or along the A45 to the M42, or even A45 through Meriden, Knowle, Dorridge, Earlswood, Redditch.... or a combination of any. Matters not really as traffic makes any route take a similar amount of time.
I know someone, who planted 5 small bushes in her front garden, and then watch from the window as a lad of 10, ripped them up and ran off with them down the road.
She followed him to a house, where she was told by the parents that.
a) she couldn't prove the bushes were hers.
b) if she rang the police, they knew where she lived........
so, just make a claim (it was locked?) on your insurance and move on....
mind you I knew a bloke who had an nova gte stolen and he found out where it was, and got it back, and later a member of the community was walking on crutches.

And the scrotes get no comeback, I get relieved of insurance XS and so the situation perpetuates. I'm off to scumtree to have a further search if it is all the same. I'll keep trying to get my original bike back - LBS said they often turn up on Ebay in few months etc but if a new bike is provided then the previous owner often is oblivious.I'd like to dish out a round of f*cks on this scumbag or at least let them experience the heat of the old bill. They might think twice about lifting someone's (maybe your) pride and joy next time...
One of our cars was stolen off our driveway this morning. I am not sickened at the loss because we'll get another but I am sickened by the fact that we'll be out of pocket for ~1 months salary, so on that basis alone, I will do all I could to ensure the thieves got recompense... although I'd turn to the Police rather than play vigilante.
If I was threatened in the process, I'd let the Police AND the local media know. Shout about it to all and sundry. If the scumbags ever did anything then, they'd be first in line for a visit. You have to stand up to these people.
