Longest ride before this one was last year, and that was 64 miles, so a fairly big jump

I did my only century ride last year. Congratulations on yours. I felt like it was a rite of passage and I was quite proud of myself.

Nice one for riding to and from the startline to make it a century.
I did the Classic too today, man I hurt, not done more than 42 miles since my only century last october.
Despite the aches that was a cracking course.

Well done. I'm doing a century this summer, did 87 last week and have 100 miles sportive next month but will probably do one before that.

Good effort.

I was supposed to be doing my first 100 miler this year (my 40th year) and possibly a triathlon, but this PITA broken elbow that is taking way too long to fix put paid to that.

So next year I'm determined to do one, and possibly even a Bedford to Brussels ride that we (colleagues who live in Belgium and myself) keep talking about but never arranging.

I did 86 miles of the route the other week and the last hour was a bit of a struggle from a mental point of view.
