River Lane Cobham to Downside Common Road - Anyone know it?

Afternoon all,
I have a training course in East Horsley on Wednesday and am looking for a suitable bike route from Epsom to there.
Google Maps includes a section between River Lane and Downside Common Lane in Cobham which doesn't allow vehicular traffic (and therefore doesn't allow Google camera cars).
Does anyone know whether the surface is passable on a CX bike with 35c tyres? I've seen reference to something called "The Splash" on it, which I guess is a ford, which I assume is probably quite low at the moment?
I'm quite happy using my CX bike on the sort of terrain it's designed for, but I do have to get to the training on time, in one piece, and without having drowned my panniers in a river on the way there!
