Out for a ride (on my own) on Saturday morning, and went past a park with a bin outside it, so stopped to have a gel so I could put the wrapper in the bin ( if I put it in my shirt it can get sticky, so if I see a bin I use it!).

Ripped off top, bit over the end, then held the other and ran my fingers up it to squirt into mouth. Pulled a bit hard, teeth let go and I covered myself in gel. You know, the stuff that goes like super glue. In front of a park full of hot mums.

I've no idea how but I managed to completely miss my top and shorts, and merely cover my arms and face (there's a surprising amount in one of those little packets!).

Superglue drying quickly, I've no cloths or tissues and only electroyte drink (not water). So used that to wash what I could, and spent the next 2 hours sticky as hell.

There was a cat sat looking at me, about 2 metres away, the entire time, clearly thinking to himself "you tt" biggrin

Tell me I'm not the only one to have done this...please???

You missed your opportunity to swallow your pride and ask one of the spectators for a wipe, anyone with a baby is going to have hundreds of baby wipes on them at all times.

...recieved a facial glazing of sticky goo in one of London's parks?

I suspect you're not alone at all Tony.

It's a recent thing for me, I probably go through more cleaning myself up than sorting out the kid!

No never done that, there is an easier way, High 5 make little gel bottles, hold just over 3 gels, couple of quid, no more sticky pockets, spraying yourself or whatever other gel disaster you can acheive and you don't have to find a bin.

Cats always look as though they're thinking that!

Hey that's not a bad idea. Will it last outside of the pack though? I ask as you never quite know how many you'll use on a ride

I've filled the bottle the night before, and not had a problem, but not used some then used some the next day. Tend to put in three then just use them.

Haha unlucky. If it helps, if I had been there I would definitely have laughed.

I very nearly punched myself in the face the other day with the hand that was squeezing up the gel towards my face! It will get me one day...

You wouldn't believe it, but I'm not accident prone, do lots of DIY (renovating a house at the moment), and typically 'those sorts of things' don't happen to me.

But, sometimes, they just do;

Yes, Tony...they do!

(now if you'd only just stop supplying the evidence for this....)
