Is there going to be another PH cycling day/weekend?
Discussion
I'd assume so, it just needs a willing volunteer to scour the web for suitable accommodation and handle the cash side of things, I kept Dolgellau simple and cheap so people felt comfortable parting with just £25, in the end it worked out really well, I was amazed how far people were prepared to travel and the website has loads of places around the Country. I'm happy to repeat the Dolgellau experience around May 2014.
I've thought about taking the bike abroad next year, either using a proper cycling tour company or just doing it myself which seems particularly given the frequency and cost of easyjet et al, probably to either Geneva or Nice as there is some good riding in both areas. Nice has a 100 mile route already mapped in the form of the Ironman triathlon course but there is loads of good riding there as its where the likes of Millar and Armstrong have both had bases in the past, its full of bars and restaurants too!
Morzine and Les Gets are within an easy ride of Geneva and would be a good climb fest for the skinny whippets amongst us.... I also looked at Annecy with the purpose of riding this years etape route but that increases the logistics burden as I couldnt find many flights there and to ride from Geneva is a 50 mile round trip on top of a tour stage which doesnt really appeal...
Still one to consider, I guess for something abroad we could just agree a hotel in advance, book a room and flight independently and meet there?!?

Well, if there is a group that would like to do a single day in the Chilterns then I'll put a route together. I'm sure there are a few PHers living either locally or would appreciate the drive out from the smoke.
I'll keep it as a single day so there will be no costs apart from travel and food during/after the ride.
Keep it at about 100km with some nice climbs in.

Roadies only though sorry.
Pablo..would be interested in a French trip next year.

A simple alternative could be to pick a few sportives and make the effort to stay local the night before/after for a few beers? That way there is a ready made route on hand, event support etc and I'm sure there are enough interesting routes to tempt a few people out!
KISS. The simple ideas are often the best, I like the sound of this.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff

Never ridden in the South Downs.
