New style tubeless tyres?

Is anyone on here running these?
I am about to upgrade my wheels to Fulcrum racing zeros which come in 2way fit and am wondering if I should pay the extra and go for them?
What is the puncture resistance like on the tubeless?

Puncture resistance depends completely on the tyre. One benefit of tubeless is it allows you to run lower pressures and not have to worry about snake bite punctures.

its getting there, hutchinson, continental and schwable are all doing tubless tyres now in various treads, compounds etc.

I've got some Hutchinson Atoms on some Ksyriums. I thought the rims were tubeless because they have no spoke holes, but they're not. Still got them to work though with some generic eBay valves and a compressor and they're great.

With tubeless you get lots of punctures, just very few flats, don't get the two confused. As said, just carry a tube for the rare occasion you get a flat.

ETA. I just realised you're talking about road tyres rather than MTB. My experience of tubeless is on a MTB, don't know if the same system is used on road tyres ???

While I've got pretty high end kit on most of my MTB, the whole tubeless thing has never grabbed me.

A complete sod when you change tyres, messy, etc. I have Nobby Nic Double Defense rubber that seems almost puncture proof (how to tempt fate...!) and can't see the need.

I used to commute on a mountain bike with UST tyres and whilst I had at least 50 punctures I only had 1 flat. It doesn't take much fluid to seal a puncture and I rarely stop to watch the sealant do its job.

Now I ride a road bike I avoid the trails and debris (thus longer commute) but I'd had 3 flats in as many months.

The next step is to get a cross bike and return to my shorter MTB commute route so I'm looking for tubeless too. I did buy some Fulcrum R3s last month but foolishly didn't see the 2 way option at the time - but they were another £90. I'll probably end up on Stan's Iron Cross.

I'd go tubeless on the road if I had the choice again.
