What bike repairs/maintenance have you done today?
Discussion
So, my wife is a childminder, and today she had 8 after-school. Of the 8, 6 were on bikes (including my daughter)
Of the 5 other bikes (my daughter's is obviously always in top condition ) there was the following required;
8 tyres needed pumping up, not one was above 10psi
1 headset needed tightening
1 BB needed tightening
3 brakes needed a tweek as they were either rubbing or squeeking
1 chain guard needed removing straightening and refitting (cheepo plastic thing had got chewed up by the chainring)
I quite enjoyed myself

Today? Non.
Yesterday. Prepared three bikes for the Lister Lion cyclocross tomorrow, adjust gears, lube chain, try to get the cable discs working on my eldest's again, this time without binding, etc.
Stripped the rear wheel of my Three Peaks bike as the freehub has started dragging a little, debating whether to stick a new hub in, or clean the freehub unit.
Why is it I can buy a new complete hub off eBay for less than the freehub unit? It takes me less time to rebuild the wheel than it does messing about swapping the freehub as well.

Removed my old square taper BB from my MTB to replace with Hollowtech, the left hand cup went in perfect but the right hand cup immediately started to strip the BB thread, despite being turned the wrong way to align the threads first, so it's off to the bike shop for that.
Did manage to fit a set of SKS Raceblades to my CAAD9 though

"Haha!", thinks Jimbo. "I have a rack and panniers laying around doing nothing. If I fit them to my commuter bike, then I'd never need use the car once weekly to drop off fresh clothes. And I can use the bike for shopping."
So, off Jimbo sets on his miraculous minor mechanical mission.

...
First bolt in...head shears off (under bugger-all torque!), leaving the rest of the bolt wedged firmly in the eyelet.
Arse

Like the OP, I can't help myself tweaking the bikes of the other kids we cross paths with. Some of their fathers should be ashamed.
I take the bikes home from my kids' after school club to keep them running too. Most are junk but the kids like them.
Today I have prepped the city bike for the Birmingham SkyRide tomorrow - that's putting the TagAlong hitch on and moving the Magocshine batteries from where they were in the seat bag (no room with the hitch in place) to directly mounted on the seat post.
And I cut an inch of the ends of the handlebars - they didn't need to be that big.
I have also succeeded in getting my wife to use SPDs, so I've lent her a pair of my pedals and cleats for her bike. I made her do a test ride but I am rather worried about her falling off. I have a pair of the kids' elbow pads I'm going to insist she wears for a while. She already wears gloves and a good helmet.
Getting the kit ready for tomorrow now - including the camelbaks and spares/tools we might need. We're not going far though - maybe a couple of laps - but it'll be slow going with the family. Fun though.
If the rain holds off. The forecast isn't great. Quite the opposite in fact.
