Best road bike £600-£700 - ideas please

After riding almost 11000 miles on a tourer over a number of years, which has been a pleasure, I am considering treating myself to a lighter weight road bike. Boardman brand is foremost in my mind. Use of bike will not be competitive, just social use and capable of rides of up to 100 miles. If it makes a difference, despite being 6'2" and 92kg I am reasonably fit.

The budget could be stretched slightly (I do not want to spend pots of cash to obtain something with only marginal benefits over a cheaper bike), I would appreciate suggestions of suitable candidates (web links would be handy). Alternatively spec ideas would be useful.

I've found myself looking at the same sort of price range instead of buying something stupid in the sale...

The 2009-2010 SRAM equipped Boardman team and team carbon look like they go for that sort of money at the moment, I spotted a carbon pro in that range as well but missed it.

I can't find full carbon and 105 or better (or SRAM equivalent) new for less than 4 figures (no planet x, £999 doesn't count!). If I get a lightly used one, some minor component replacements and a full service / bar rewrap and should be good as new...

I'm not impressed by the price / spec of the current new boardmans, although the 2014s are expected imminently, or so I've been led to believe.

I'm having issues working out the sizes in comparison to my current rides, I wish somone would agree a standard for sizing....

Canyon bikes are very highly rated. The new 2014 range is out soon such as this:
