Chain noise

At least that's what I think it is.....

I've put a new rear mech on my road bike and now the drivetrain seems a lot more noisy. There's no rubbing on front or rear mech and the replaced pins move freely in the chain but I have no idea why it seems louder than before!

I put the old mech on another bike and that one is loud too, so I must be doing something wrong but can't work out what it might be.
