Do you have the hands of a weak and feeble woman?

I ask as I really struggle to find gloves!

I don't have particularly large hands - I know some people with little fingers the breadth of my thumbs! - but whenever I try to find some new gloves, I invariably end up with the largest size going for pretty much all manufacturers.

This isn't so much of an issue with fingerless gloves, but it's a complete pain with full-fingered ones, as I find they generally end up just a little bit too tight, and I start getting pins and needles as a result.

When it comes to non-cycling gloves, I'd generally be somewhere in the middle of the size range. It's only cycling gloves that cause me issues.

I'd understand it if all cycling clothing was sized on the assumption of 70kgs being an XXXL, but it's not. It's just the gloves.

What's going on?? Are there any fully grown blokes on here, for example, who fit into a cycling glove smaller than an L, or even an XL? Please pick your size in the poll so I can find out if I'm a freak, or if it's glove company sizing which is freakish.

The amount of money I have spent trying to find a pair of comfortable gloves is untrue. Most are fine for a few hours and then the pins and needles start, I put it down to tightness between the fingers more than anything, right at the base. I don't get the problem if I ride with bare hands.

I've finally settled on a pair of Assos S7 summer mitts, they did a 7 hour ride ok but I did have to keep pulling them out every hour or two.

Never had an issue. Every glove I have bought for general winter, snowboarding, MTB or road has always been XL.

I do have the hands of a small woman - seriously my hands and wrists are tiny. Obviously, the rest of me is huge and I'm a towering man mountain of testosterone. Big watches look comical on me and most gloves I wear (golf, hockey, skiing) are a small or XS. However, I've just checked the Gore fingerless cycling gloves drying under my desk - they're a medium and fit perfectly. I'd hate to see a small or XS, they'd probably fit my 5 year old son.

661 Comp full finger MTB gloves - M/9 = snug as a second skin
Crivit (Aldi/Lidl) mitts - S/7 = excellent fit
Crivit (Aldi/Lidl) full finger winter gloves - 8 = decent fit on fingers, thumb is too long
Altura Night-Vision winter gloves - Small = good snug fit

It seems to vary between brand and style, but I usually come in at Small or Medium, between size 7 and size 9. I tend not to worry too much about the stated size. Gloves are one item that I always buy in a shop, never online, and I just try various pairs on until I find a good fit for me.

I'm a large in Spesh gloves but I'm fairly certain my hands aren't very big at all!

I wear a large usually, but can squeeze into my Wife's mediums if I pick them up by mistake (we have the same gloves).

I don't have very long fingers, but my hands are quite wide and thick, maybe you've got long fingers?

Cycling gloves are meant to be quite tight and mine are usually a bit uncomfortable at first, but if I go a size bigger they're a bit saggy after they've 'bedded in' and give me sore hands.
