What's the fastest you've ridden on your bike?
Discussion
I'm genuinely interested in how fast you've ridden your bike.
It's not fast by any means, but I want too know realistically what's top speed you can go on a boggo road bike.
GPS results only please, anyone can say "I've cracked 50" and not prove it.

Fastest I've been and no desire to go any faster!

This was descending off Great Fun Fell, one of the best (and toughest) climbs I've done in the UK.

39.7 down Prune Hill in Egham

Its a very short but fairly steep hill - trouble is, theres a blind right-hander halfway down so its a test of nerve... I would like to hit/exceed 40 though.
Downside, its the first thing I have to do on my commute home - climb it...

Any dubious Strava traces require posting of the GPS, to show that it wasn't a glitch.
I've had 63kph on a reasonably long hill near here; limited by 50x12 top gear.
You're not pedalling fast enough!I've had 63kph on a reasonably long hill near here; limited by 50x12 top gear.
I got over 65MPH (25 years ago, before GPS) down Snake Pass, and whilst increasing speed the speedo decided it was too fast and the display disappeared! One 52 x 14 BTW
A couple of low 40's on tarmac in the Brecon Beacons and the Alps, not bad for an MTB on 2.35's - to be honest it's not terribly exciting, certainly not as exciting at doing half that through the trees, but then I'd have a hell of a lot more grip and braking power than a road bike, I'd soil myself doing that atop tiny road tyres and relying on Canti's to stop.
I'll post a screen grab later.

sorry no GPS data to back it up but I think I have a pic of my speedo somewhere.
