'In-between' gloves?????

It is entering the time of year when it is just a little too cold for mitts, but still a bit too warm for winter gloves - so what can the P/H massive recommend me?

I have a pair of Assos early winter gloves that are fantastic once the temperature drops, and coupled with a pair of liners are good for sub zero temperatures but are a bit too warm for this time of year.

I don't want to spend a fortune as I am probably only going to be wearing them for a month before it gets 'proper chilly like'.......Looking at the DeFeet Dura Gloves, anyone got any experience of them?

I was going through my cycling kit the other day and discovered that I've got over 10 pairs of cycling gloves.

I don't like mitts, so wear very thin full-finger gloves during the summer.

I then have various thicker autumn/spring gloves. The last pair I bought were from (shudders) Sports Direct and were somthing ridiculous like £7.99. They're Muddy Fox, and tbh, they seem better than the 661 or the endura ones I bought last year.

Why? Well, I know this sounds like a little point, but the other gloves have tried to use something that looks like velcro but doesn't work half as well - so the fastenings keep popping open.

Only worth considering if you're not a brand snob though.

Basically you're after a sh!t version of the Assos early winter gloves.

I use mitts then switch to the Assos gloves. Nothing in between. What I like about Assos gloves is their breathability - it means that they don't end up smelling bad. The sh!t version of Assos early winters (which I have tried in various guises) tend not to be breathable, and therefore tend to end up stinking

I rate the Duras. Started wearing them again this week for night mtb rides, on the road bike I took them up the alps for cold descents, and wore them on their own most of last winter.

They cool wash well and are not too bulky so easy to take off and stow if you get too warm.

i've just been using my mtb gloves until it becomes too cold for them, when i wear my sealskins.

Just started using full finger but thin gloves for the early morning commutes, and a night MTB ride last night. They are only these Halfords jobs but they keep the edge off.

Guy that owns the LBS rides with them, bearing in mind he has the pick of all of the (very expensive) gloves in his shop the fact that he rides with those probably speaks volumes.....

I have some exteondo long-fingered gloves made out of a sort of lycra-roubaix fabric, the sort that winter tights/knicks are made of. They are great for this sort of inbetweeny weather. There's not much padding on them, but at this time of year I've usually stopped riding the race bike and am on something with slightly squishier bar tape!

These are the ones I use. They are ideal for late autumn early spring and are waterproof. They are ok for short rides in the winter as well off road but struggled on road.

DeFeet are good and I do like mine alot.

I use the Gore Mistral long finger gloves. Perfect for that nippy spring/autumn morning.

When it gets cold I move onto my Assos Winter Glove system too. (Good down to -15c with the lobster part)

I'm in the full winter glove already. I suffer from cold hands though as soon as the temperatures drop below about 10degrees centigrade.

I put a pair of silk inner ski gloves under my summer cycling gloves. If I get too hot, I can take them off and stuff them in a pocket.
