Porthmadog for a couple of days?

Morning all,

I'm off to Coed Yr Brenin for a couple of days and Antur Stiniog for a day in November, Porthmadog seems closeish to both.

What I need to know is does it have a couple of pubs and ideally a decent Indian and what's the night life like?

Just to set the scene a little we're all early 30's and mostly with partners/married etc. It doesn't need to be lively, as the only single one in the group I've been to Ibiza twice this year and had some fun.

I've not spent an evening in Porthmadog, but having passed through there virtually daily for work, has a number of pubs and a couple of Indians. Doubt you're talking Ibiza levels of nightlife but you should have enough to entertain you in the evenings. There is the Purple Moose brewery in Porthmadog which brews some cracking stuff, so you won't be short of decent beer.

There is a very small Indian called Sima on the high street. Only used it for take away but it was fine. Few local pubs which will be very quiet off season. TBH when I go to cyb, I normally stay in Caernarfon, normally only stay in Morfa Bychan near Porthmadog if going to beach with kids. Porthmadog is a lovely place, but will be very quiet!

Dolgellau is close with some good pubs and Indian restaurants
