How near or far is your LBS?
I use 2, my local (Neil Orrel) is around 2 miles away, proper old school effort who still builds his steel frames and can knock up his own wheel's, but sadly he cannot keep up with the newer end (my shock system on my MTB)
The other I use (NWMTB) is bang on the money with new stuff, but is the other side of Manchester so a good 25 mins around the 60, shame its the other side of town but been so happy with their service and trust what the have to say.

Ah so there are two of them (unless you live in Leighton lol)There are two bike shops in town - an independent I've tried to shop at, but failed. Run by a cantankerous old git who closes randomly, seems to survive entirely on kids bikes and won't touch anything with hydraulic brakes or too many gears....
The other is a Halfords with some amazing staff, great guys who know their stuff.
The closest classic lbs is 12 miles away

I use a few, Muddy Bums (muddybumsbikes.com) is about a half mile up the road. Sunset MTB (sunsetmtb.co.uk) is 15 mins, Don Skene (teamskene.com) about the same in the other direction, if I'm really desperate there's Tredz across town.
I've also got Mojo and Loco tuning which are close enough to work to visit in a lunch hour.

You're in Bracknell then? Yeah, they arent brilliant. Have you tried the two in Crowthorne though? Cyclezone & Berkshire Cycles. Used the latter to rebuild a rear wheel, quite a reasonable price.I use 7Hundred in Windsor which is a nice 10 miles ride through the Great Park. About two miles. Cycle Surgery. Test rode a bike there, but I've never bought anything from the shop. Its fairly well presented and the price on the Cube I rode was quite good.
Maybe next time I need to buy anything, I will give them a try.

They are doing my Groupset upgrade at the end of next week. I've bought a few basic items of kit there such as reflective gilet and some arm warmers, but I tend to buy items like that from Wiggle

I've been to Berkshire Cycles a couple of times and the bloke I spoke to each time seemed annoyed that I was bothering him. Maybe I just got unlucky. Not tried Cyclezone or AW.
I bought a bike this year with an ISP so went to 7H for a bike fit and to cut down the seat mast. I didn't fancy taking a blade to CF myself. They obviously did something right because the bike felt very natural from the first mile. I forget how much it was for the fit but all in it came to about £70 which I thought was very reasonable.
