Stolen mountain bicycle anyone?

Little foreign kid came in wanting to sell a bike last week, wanted £4 for it so he could give £2 to his Mum and keep 2 for himself - said it was his Dad's bike that he didn't ride anymore...
Told him that wasn't enough and offered him a tenner, but he insisted on 4, finally got him up to £6, but it was the weirdest f
ked up haggling I've ever done.
Anyway, there's an outside chance that it might be nicked, but if I didn't have it then he would have sold it to some other more unscrupulous type and it would never be seen again - and moreover, it's a Scott Boulder for a sick squid...
If anyone knows anyone who's had this bike stolen from them then please do contact us through the blog and they can have it back.

Yeah, great comment mate; thanks a lot for that...
Anyway, we had an Art, Bikes 'n Beer show-cum-party at the workshop last week and I left the Scott, unlocked, on the street all day with a sign guiding people in, nobody nicked or reclaimed it. Loads of people turned up, most of whom I'd never met before, and one guy wanted to buy a bike just to ride home on. No idea who he was, but I gave him the Scott to get back on not expecting to see it again. He sent me a message on Monday saying he'd left it for me round the corner at Retro Joe's. Bike looks like it might be a stayer...

I've been pimpin' this bike round the internet for a few weeks with nobody claiming it as theirs, so I thought I'd use it for a bit, but it's a monster frame and super looong stem and I'm not Orang-utan enough for it so I chucked it on fleabay.
£66.66 seemed an apt start price - and wtf, who doesn't like a fat profit. Loads of watchers, but no bids and then some geezer offered me sixty quid cash. He didn't come through, but the bike was re-listed and my hopes for a bit of ker-ching were high.
Took the Scott out this morning, as it was the bike closest to the door, and as I was riding up the hill past, ironically, the Police station the guy on the crappy BSO coming downhill seemed to be eyeballing me. By the time I reached the top this guy had turned round and caught me up (I don't climb well for my weight) and he was shouting at me in a strong East European accent.
We stopped and it turns out he felt that it was his bike and he wanted it back. I tried to explain that I'd been looking for him for weeks, but there was some language barrier and he wanted to take the bike there and then. Obviously I asked for some kind of proof, he mumbled some stuff about being late for something and left taking my card with a phone number.
He seemed a bit of a t
t tbh, but there again he thought I'd nicked his bike, so I guess I'll give him that. I'll let you know if he calls...
