Fancy a new set of wheels, budget about £250 max, light trail use with disc mounts, anyone got any recommendations? I can go v lightweight on rims.

mavic / shimano factory builds seems to rule the roost now, not sure which is best. I wanted dark anodising, and for what it's worth, don't want too much of a 'futuristic' air as they're going on a cotic soul, which is a little more retro..

last time I commissioned a set they were the original hope hubs and campagnolo mirrox rims...a few years ago!

Been doing this myself. My lbs cam do mavic 317s on hope hubs for £120 for yhe front and about £170 for the rear. Im limited in my rim choice as I need rim brakes. 317s come in rim and disc configs for about 25 a rim.

Just ordered a set. Need new forks before I can try them out though. Look like a bargain, but can't really find much in the way of reviews.

look v good value...unknown quantity tho, never heard of them before. they appear very light weight.

I've had Hope pro 2's on DT Swiss rims for the last 2 years and they are the most reliable wheels I've ever owned. Still perfectly true and the hubs are ridiculously easy to strip down and clean. The noise from the freehub isn't to everyone's taste though.

Hope have legendary customer service too. Christ I sound like a fanboy.

Take a look at the Fulcrum Red 5s, light, within your budget and look great.
