Christmas Day cycle

Apparently you're not a real cyclist until you've gone out for a decent ride on the morning of the 25th (Same rule applies to Marathon runners btw)
This year I was thinking, get out at 9am, nice virtually empty roads, weather looks OK-ish, be back by the time the small ones (nephews and niece) visit and then have a fat lunch and feel no guilt . And just like the last 4 years I've wanted to do this, I've woken this week with the beginnings a cold which will probably develop nicely in the next 48hours and keep me off the bike
Anyone else going for a bimble on Wednesday? Is it the utopia I hope?

I'm al in for rule 9, but cyclng is a pretty soo sport - unless you have no family / your whole family foes for a ride, i can't see how to justify it tbh...
If you can justify it, why not go for a hoon instead? All th coppers will be near the local pub spot testing people, the road to bala will be empty, jobs a good un

My christmas has worked out perfectly this year.
Spending it at my sisters 15 miles away, my dad is taking presents over and a change of clothes for me, so all I have to do is ride there and back (and putting in a 20 or so miles each way covers my daily distance for the festive 500).
Christmas morning I'll be out about 6am.... :-)

I went out on Sunday after Saturday's downpour and managed a poultry 15 miles in 2.5 hours. I did the same route in nearly half the time 7 weeks ago! It was good fun sliding around everywhere though 
I am planning a quick ride tomorrow morning - not sure what kind of distance (or time) I will go for, decide tomorrow. A few of us went out last year and the year before - we left at 6AM as some of the others have kids - it was surprising the amount of people out walking at that time as well - more than on a Sunday.

First year in the last five that I will not be venturing out due to daughters first xmas and multiple family arrangements, shame as it had become a tradition with my dad and I but with illness that was def not going to happen.
I will miss dodging drunks coming round Kingston one way system and the dear in Richmond park wondering what the hell I am up to normally in freezing pouring rain.
