Just wanted to get an idea of PHers goal setting for 2014. Mine is 5k miles as Ill be focused on Triathlons next year but will keep the focus on cycling as I just love it! Combination of events, commuting, long sunday club rides and some MTBing to get to the target.

Best of luck to all and Happy New Year and hope 2014 is a safe, happy & successful one!

If I cycled to work on every available working day I'd manage nearly 15,000kms.

So I'm settling for a target of 10,000kms.

I've managed about 4,000 in my first proper year of road biking ... with my commitment to the 2014 sportives, I think I'll be looking around at 6,000 in 2014.

As per elsewhere I'm going for 5,000 MILES.

Even though the office is at home so have worked out a new regime;
- open office, cover off any urgent stuff
- take dog for walk
- go for a commuting ride of at least an hour (15/20 miles depending on what bike I use)
- get ready for the day
- return to work

Will aim for another 10,000 miles next year but with a bit more focus, my main aim is to get to 2nd cat so I should really try to make the most of my time on the bike.

5600 miles this year, going to be aiming to up that to at least 7500 but depending on how I get on at the beginning of the year may reassess and push this up to 10000. If I'm commuting to work most days it's an easy 100 a week just riding to work and back,

I've done about 400 since getting the bike in August, all off road MTB. I'll be pleased if I can crack 1k in 2014

From March I'll have a 10km-ish commute to work and back to boost the distance but I'll try to hit 5000kms in 2014. Pablo junior is due in April so I can see some lonely sessions on the rollers throughout the summer!

Five months written off at the beginning of this year, so I didn't get started until May. Managed just under 2,000 miles by the end of the year. I've gone for 5,000 miles as a target for 2014, as it sounds like a reasonably challenging target, yet still seems eminently do-able. Hopefully I'll pull my thumb from out of my arse, and actually sign up for (and complete wink ) a Sportive or other organised endurance event too.

I failed to make a start today, though! Weather, and a beautifully cooked (by the wife, not me!) roast beef dinner with a nice red, meant bikes were off limits. Tomorrow looks like the best weather all week, so I'd like to get out there and crack on with some mileage to take advantage.

Goal of >12,000km and 150,000m of ascent. Big targets are another Super Randonneur series, and prequalifying for PBP with the Swan with two necks (600km with 8000m of ascent - not that it matters, in that I don't have a pass for PBP).

5k (miles) for me.

Did some amazing rides in 2013 (Paris Roubaix challenge, Mt Teide, Ride100) but was overall a poor year in outright mileage (~2.5k).

Have the Flanders sportive lined up for April and hope to find the time to do more racing this year.

4500 miles this year so 5000 miles has to be the target for 2014. However, if I have to work away from home a lot as I sometimes do, this target may need to be moderated frown

I'll end up riding whatever I end up riding . No need for targets.
