Not the start to the working year I was looking for!!!

I took a week off after year end, during which I decided to change tyres of my commuter...
Off came the Continental Cyclocross Speed (my arse!!!) 700x35c tyres, and on went the Continental GP 4 Seasons 700x23 tyres instead.
Mmmm.... Lovely!!! Wafty & fast for much less effort!!
I even did the sensible thing (not being the world's lightest rider at 120kg!) and went and tested them out to make sure they were up to the dire state of Surrey & South West London's "roads".
What I didn't do, of course, was think to load up the 12kgs of stuff I had in my panniers this morning.
I got 2 miles away from home, went over a crack in the road (not even a proper pothole), and bang went the rear.
A mile further down the road, bang goes the spare.
Just to add insult (and financial damage to injury), my pump decides it's now time to also give up the ghost.
Cue one walk to the nearest station, a train back home, a shower, a change and a train into the office, followed by an outing at lunchtime to get some 28c 4 Seasons and a new pump. The 23s can just go on my road bike once I've work out its current tyres.
There is no real point to this thread other than to moan about my misfortune!!
And yes, I did make sure the tyre and wheel were clear of anything that might've caused the puncture the first time round!

Indeed, fear not! I've managed thousands of miles on my old bike on 28c Gatorskins with barely a puncture, but just had a couple too many slippery moments on wet London roads, hence thinking of trying the 4 Seasons on the Boardman.
I've also had no problems running 23c tyres on the Derosa, hence thinking it wouldn't be a problem to run 23c 4 Seasons on the Boardman, but clearly the added weight of the panniers on the rear wheel made all the difference.
Anyway, I'll be on the 28s tomorrow, and will keep the 23s until I need new rubber for the Derosa, so nothing lost, other than the cost of the CX tyres, which really are too draggy to use on the road, and overkill for the commute anyway.
As an aside, if anyone is looking for Conti 4 Seasons, Evans have them on web offer at £29.99 at the moment, which Cycle Surgery on Waterloo Bridge kindly price-matched for me!
FWIW I've moved my bike up from 19f and 22r to 25 allround- Much faster IMO, suspect the obsession with small tyres is abit of a myth.
I would have though 28-30 was the sweet spot for a hybrid?
Kudos for riding at the moment, the roads around here are covered in dirt from the flooding and its all as sharp as a razor :-(

The 25s are faster in the real world where ribbon smooth tarmac is rare and negotiating potholes and poor surfaces is normal and only going to get worse, they ride better and grip better.
After I crashed my cx I put my spare winter bike back on the road - suddenly 23c tyres feel like ice skates, ride like crap and have sod all grip....
