Anyone booked a Cycling Holiday this year yet?

Wasn't 'really' planning a holiday. Mates were looking at MTB'ing in Ireland. I said 'sod that its wet' . That was the weekends discussion. Anyway, a call last night and today with wifes permission, its a week at Ciclo Montana in southern Spain in May. Bring it on..........

Hi,

Each year i do one of the Sustrans cycle routes in Scotland, just planning the Carlisle to Glasgow route called Loch and Glens South.

I get a train to the start and likewise at the finish and camp each day on route, 6 stone my bike weighed last year with all the camping gear and food, pushed up most of the hills,

My wife is due to give birth in two months so I doubt I'll be going abroad this year. I'm sure I'll manage a couple of weekends somewhere though.

Our group has been riding with ciclo for years, although its been 3 years since I was last there. Well jealous

2012 6 of us did the St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay coast to coast, last year we did a tour of Lincolnshire (much tighter budget) and this year the plan is to do a 3 day tour of the Lake District.

Nothing as fancy as a trip abroad though

I think this is the 7th visit, Pablo. First time I went Natalie was just born !!
Martyn, I really fancy Scotland and want to do Lejog. Unfortunately my mate has suffered a heart condition, which has scuppered that currently. I am suspecting he wont be riding again either.So going to have to re assess that life mission.

A few Biggest is a 5 day Alps road biking trip in June based in Vaujany, 10 of us, now an annual thing.

Went there a couple of years ago to Kitesurf and saw a group of roadies hammering about and thought what a good idea. The roads are pretty good,hardly any traffic and everyone is really friendly.

Not really a MTB holiday but I'm touring Europe for 5 months this summer - looking for recommendations of good places to ride (MTB XC/AM).

Nice, thats on my list for next year. Have driven RdGA in both directions but not ridden it.

For my part I have booked 3 days in Belgium for the Tour of Flanders, and 8 days in the Swiss alps in June

Same here.
I also quite fancy doing one or two long weekends in order to conquer some classic climbs - Ventoux, Alp D'Huez, Stelvio etc...

Well my Daughter, being the awkward sod she'll no doubt prove to me, is due to be born a few weeks before the lifts open in the Alps this year, so that's gone for a burton.

Plan is Sierra Nevada in October, but I've trawled YouTube for every video I can find, and frankly it looks a bit st - might go the other way up to Seven Staines and accept the cold and wet.

There are 12 riders and 2 support. The support vehicle is taking the bikes and spares over and we will fly into Geneva and get a mini bus to Thonon les bains and meet up with the support vehicle. We have planned on doing an average of 60 miles per day landing in Menton on the 7th/8th day. The bikes go back in the van and we fly from Nice.

We looked at other options including a managed solution from one of the many operators but this works out the most cost effective. Cant wait. Got the Fred as well this year. Training starts now!!!
