cycling inspired stag in or near london

so I'm organising this for my chum who loves cycling.

about 15 people in attendance.

I think he fancied doing some sort of trail biking or something along those lines but there doesnt appear to be much around london (say up to an hour away by train or so). I thought there might be something in or around epping but appears not..Obvs if we were goign to wales or scotland it would be no problem but around london seems to be an issue..

any inspiration/something suitable for a group of chaps?

Do the South Downs Way. Train to Winchester, Day 1 to Amberley, stay overnight at the Sportsman, Day 2 to Eastbourne, congratulatory piss up, meal & overnight then and back on the train to Victoria.

50 miles and 2000m climbing, 6-7 hours each day with a bit of pre-training

I do a ton of trails starting in Peaslake, just around the corner of Dorking.

There's a good shop there that does hire and guided tours:

Surrey hills is a great laugh but might depend on abilities a bit.
Swinley is nice and easy as it's all route marked an there is a blue that anyone could ride and there's nothing to hairy on the red.

For my stag I was forced to ride London to Brighton in a monkey outfit with my only refreshment permitted being beer.
