Replace jockey wheels or new rear mech?

Had a bit of a breakdown last night. Jockey wheel iswell and truly shot on my spare winter bike.

Looking at the costs there doesn't seem to be a lot in it on replacing them vs a new mech (sram rival - I'd happily replace with an apex).

Any opinion on whether its worth replacing them on an old mech?

Theres loads of fancy ones on ebay for less than a tenner. Why not just whack some of those in there if the rest of the mech is fine?

My quick phone search suggested 25 quid a pair, hadn't looked on eBay :-)

I purchased an eBay one for 8.99 for my X7, not sure if on and off road jockey wheels are different, or not but the original jockey wheel lasted about 3 months - the replacement is still going strong after about 18 months and 2 crappy winters!

I think the company is cycle monster, you can buy direct and they're available in a range of colours.

Actually. What I should have said is maybe you should buy a new mech. Theres some really nice white SRAM apex ones on ebay you should bid on...

Get some new jockey wheels, the Sram bearings are crap, a new mech will come with the same crap fitted.

New X7 mech about 6 months ago, both jockey wheels are now in the bin.

Sadly not. Its a long cage WiFLi one.

Id always heard the standard referred to as short cage and the wifli as a medium :-)
After experiencing the ludicrous gearing on my cx I'd happily use the excuse to drop a wifli on it...
