Be careful as there seems to be a new batch of fake 404's around at the mo. I have no problem with cheap carbon rims but it's not right to brand them and expect a premium. The seller responded to me that he would take £750 for them

Interesting ... hardly a bargain! Incidentally I saw a fake Cervelo S5 on ebay yesterday ... I mean seriously, who would you bother no matter what the price. Well, those are clearly not zipp 404's. Anyone who has ever seen a zipp 404 or looked at pictures of zipp 404s would know that. You know what they say about a fool and his money...eBay doesn't give a s

What kind of attitude is that? sure they are fakes and bad fakes at that, someone with any cycling nous should be able to see that a mile off but no one deserves to get ripped off to the tune of over a grand!
What can I say... I don't take pleasure in someone being ripped off like that, but if you're going to spend a grand on some wheels on ebay surely you'd do so with your brain fully engaged? ...and reading up on the issue it seems like it is pretty difficult to win legal action against the suppliers out there. For the amount they sell it's probably not worth Zipp's effort?

Create a new ebay account and place a bid high enough to guarantee you win, but not look stupid enough to have the seller cancel it.
