definitely cancel their bid. When selling a car or something of higher value I always put in the ad - if you have less than 5 positive feedback ratings then I will cancel your bid unless you get in touch by messaging first. Cancelled plenty of bids from naught feedback type characters before - you know they'll mess you around. Maybe edit the listing to include a similar disclaimer to the above. So many messers on eBay unfortunately 
As above or get in contact with the bidder or cancel their bid. I had someone with feedback of +3 buy my bike 2 weeks ago .. turned out to be a genuine bidder/buyer who was quite local so collected bike and paid via paypal beforehand.
On the flipside I sold some wheels (car) and was passing the sellers place of work .. agreed to drop off and he'd pay cash. He saw the wheels, realised they didnt match his fake wheels (mine were genuine) and decided he didn't want them! Buyer had a fb rating of +5 ... I should have known.

You don't join & instantly have positive feedback.
Definitely, that's why I always put if you have less than 5 positive feedback get in touch first before bidding - just shows a little inclination from the person that they are serious and willing to communicate, rather than a ghost bidder from Estonia or what have you. At the end of the day you can get stitched up by someone with 100+ positive feedback, luck of the draw to some extent, but in my experience anyone with less than 5 positives that doesn't want to message you is much more likely to be a time-waster.You don't join & instantly have positive feedback.
You can change one of the settings for this.

There's also a section to block bidders from whichever country that you don't want to deliver to. No more "Please post Lagos" on a collection only item.

You are playing with fire allowing somebody to collect after paying with PayPal. Perhaps the person was unsure about how Ebay works etc. Not defending them because I don't know the full extent but I do no several people who have joined Ebay & not quite done things right which led to negative feedback but none of the people I know did it intentially, they just didn't realize certain things. Steve
Best way in my experience is buy it now, best offer accepted .
If you want say 800 list as 850
Some jokers will offer 200, it's not worth that mate etc etc!!Counter offer 849.99 to annoy them.
Genuine buyers usually make a proper offer . This saves you having to cancel dodgy buyers & stops snipers etc getting it too cheaply

Seriously though, he could be on holiday or work trip? I know access to the internet is pretty much possible no matter where you are. Hope the buyer is genuine for you.

I've heard of plenty of cases where someone does this and has paid with a stolen card or just does a chargeback saying they never bought the item. This technique relies on speed so they pay a few hours before and collect the item before the s**t hits the fan. Be very wary of selling this way!Viperzs said:
