Snapped rear axel, easy to fix?
Discussion
axle should be standard thread, and i'd say 135mm length, so swap out the cones and locknuts onto a standard shimano and it should be fine...
my mother had a bike she used to go into town on from time to time that had a qr front hub back when they were fashionable, Halfords told her the whole hub would need swapping out to convert to a solid axle, I bought the parts required (inc a little tube of grease) for about £11 and did it in half an hour or less.
simple enough job with cone spanners.

Little known fact.In the military, if something cannot be fixed with the basic toolkit Digga has pictured above, it cannot in fact be fixed at all

Given that he weighs about 18 stone, it was only good enough to scoot or pedal on very flat sections, to get out of the woods, but better than nowt.
