The Tour de France pre-race team presentation is normally free to all.
Was really looking forward to it in my home town.
But guess what, in typical UK fashion, why let them have it for free when they will pay through the nose and we can make a fortune...

What's really mad, tickets have been on sale a few hours and all the £100+ tickets have gone.

This will be the biggest ever Team Presentation Ceremony in the history of the Tour de France and we are working with the ASO, the organisers of the Tour, to make this a reality.
This is a not-for-profit event and the ticket revenue will help fund the event and ensure that we deliver the best Team Presentation Ceremony in the history of the Tour de France.
The show will be an exciting mix of cycling stars from the 22 teams and live entertainment, produced by Martin Green – the man who oversaw the London 2012 Olympics opening and closing ceremonies.
So yeah, you can either have it in the town square in the rain and watch a bunch of people sign a transparent board, wave and walk off for free or actually charge a bit, make it into something a bit different and have it in a massive arena with big screens and a sound system... This is a not-for-profit event and the ticket revenue will help fund the event and ensure that we deliver the best Team Presentation Ceremony in the history of the Tour de France.

ts how we roll. I have been to three Tour presentations over the years.
Never rains on the tour (unlike the classics !)
With a little effort always managed to get to where the teams are milling about afterwards, signing autographs and stuff.
Not really into sycophantic adulation, but had a good long chat with George Hincapie in Rotterdam, and a reasonable one with Johan Bruyneel in London. And got some great pictures. Bet they won't allow cameras in the Arena!
Anyway, yes of course Leeds Arena will be impressive.
But instead of mingling and actually feeling like part of something, I will be reduced to a fee paying punter, captive in my £73 seat watching a show.
Sorry I don't do the punter thing very well, never have.
If I did I might follow football or F1 etc.
Having said that, belligerently paying Robbie Williams for the pleasure in the same Arena a few days before
Anyway, paid up, got my tickets.
LeTour in my city... still makes the hairs on back of neck stand on end, awesome.
